Past Achievements
APD since its formation have successfully had the chance to carry out Need Assessment of the area and promoted various campaigns. APD have implemented the following community funded activities:
    Peace promotion workshop in Afmadow district
Health and sanitation campaigns in the Afmadhow district lower juba
Running of 2 schools in the Afmadhow district through the support of Diasporas and community contributions.
APD has supported schools in Garissa County with text books, exercise books, school uniforms and sanitary towels.

Pilot education program Targeting children in public Primary Schools in Liboi, Kenya (May 2011-June 2011) funded by ANCF.
Prevention and treatment of severe and moderate acute malnutrition through integrated therapeutic and supplementary feeding programme in Jilib and Afmadhow Districts in Juba Region (July 2011-June 2012) funded by CHF/UNICEF Somalia.
Distribution of agricultural inputs in Afmadhow, Lower Juba region, Somalia (October2011-January 2012) funded by FAO Somalia.
Provision of primary health care support to Faragurow MCH, Dhobley MCH, Qoqani MCH and six health post in Jilib and Afmadow district (November 2011- March 2013) funded by UNICEF Somalia.
Provision of support to 14 MCH-Nutrition programmes in Puntland state covering 3 regions of Bari, Sanaag and Ayn funded by WFP Somalia (January-December 2013).
Water, sanitation and food security improvement project in Nugaal and Sool region of Puntland funded by USAID through CARE Somalia (March-September 2012).
Peace dividend project in Qoqani and Hosingo locations of Afmadhow district funded by DFID through PACT/ACT Kenya (Feb-July 2012).
Prevention and Treatment of Acute Malnutrition among Children <5 and pregnant and lactating mothers in Middle/Lower Juba, Southern Somalia (June 2012 – May 2013) funded by CHF Somalia.
Cash for work program in Badan and Lasqoray districts of Puntland Somalia funded by FAO Somalia (August – 2012 to November 2013) 
Emergency livelihood support to households in crisis in Lower Juba Region through cash for work funded by CHF Somalia(Feb-September 2013)
Prevention and Treatment of acute Malnutrition among children under five boys, girls and PLWs in Middle/Lower juba, southern Somalia funded by CHF Somalia (Feb 013-Jan 2014).
Protection programme on Gender based violence funded by UNHCR at Dhobley MCH.
Mainstreaming peace building activities in Afmadow and Dhobley funded by PACT (May 2013 to October 2013).
Integrated therapeutic and supplementary feeding   programs interventions in Bari   and Sanag region of Putland state Somalia (june2013 to may 2014).
APD is currently implementing a nutrition programme in partnership with the ministry of health and UNICEF and carrying out OTP /SFP programmes in Garissa County and has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the ministry. It also takes part in nutrition and health related surveys in the county.
APD also intending to do Water sanitation and hygiene activities in Garissa County and this is included in the MOU with the ministry of health.
